The Lifeboat Monument is situated on St.Anne's Promenade, near the Bandstand. The monument gives details of the Mexico disaster of 1886. 14 lives were lost in the disaster, when the "Laura Janet" lifeboat sank. The old Imperial Hydro Hotel, later the Majestic Hotel, can also be seen in the background.
