General notes

As part of the LightsOut initiative, Morecambe Library showed the image of a candle burning in the window of the upper floor of the library, which was visible to anyone using Central Drive.
The image was accompanied by the words of Sir Edward Grey, Foreign Secretary on that day in 1914: "The lamps are going out all over Europe; we shall not see them lit again in our lifetime"
