General notes
Quakers in Pendle bridge crosses Pendle Water. There has been a bridge on this site for over 200 years. (one can be seen on Yates map of Lancashire 1786). The photograph precedes construction works for the M65 motorway and a new, higher level bridge which began in March 1978. To the right can be seen Hill Street cottages, known locally as "Coffin Row"
