General notes
The building in the centre of the photograph standing on the corner for Gisburn to the left and Downham to the right was the old Toll House. The building to the left was demolished during road widening. The Toll House has been a shop for a number of years famous for Mrs Hudson's ice cream. Before selling ice cream it was a butchers shop. The words "family butcher" can be seen on the windows of the shop in the photograph.
