The building nearest the camera is Pastures House, later known as The Travellers Rest Inn. This was the first building encountered after leaving Thursden Valley on the road over to Yorkshire. In the early 19th century the inn had a bad reputation as the haunt of villains. It was demolished in the 1920's. To the right of the inn can be seen Widdup Reservoir
