William Cornforth Robinson (1861-1931), born at Carlton, Yorkshire, he was working part time in a Burnley Mill by age 10. Aged 17, after a long strike he became a union organiser. From 1894 he was the General Secretary of the Amalgamated Assocation of Beamers, Twisters and Drawers. He died in North Shields 2 days before he was due to retire as Secretary of the Union after 37 years. He was a member of the Labour NEC, the first socialist M.P. for Elland in 1922 and 1924-29, President United Textile Factory Workers Association 1903-1919. (Daily Herald obituary p. 12 12 June 1931) By 1901 he had left Burnley and was living in Heywood. M. Holdsworth was the Local Secretary, and T. Tempest was a Burnley Councillor.
Richard Bright Watson (1868-1963) was secretary 1903-1931.
