Ermyntrude Frances De Trafford born August 10 1883, a member of the old Catholic de Trafford family of Croston Hall. In April 1916, age 33, she enrolled with the Voluntary Aid Detachment at Moor Park Hospital, Preston. She wrote 'The Personal Diary of Nurse de Trafford, 1916-1920' which was eventually published in 2001. She died on January 13 1964.
