Trough of Bowland
Forest of Bowland

The Trough of Bowland is a valley and high pass in the Forest of Bowland, an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Lancashire. The pass reaches 968 feet above sea level at the head of the valley. It links to Wyresdale. Bradley Wiggins, the cyclist, attributed his Tour de France success to the many hours he had spent toiling up this hill in the wind and rain in training! This is a view from the Lancaster side of the Trough which is an easier assent for cyclists than the other side.
