Jefffey Wright.
Jeff Wright was awarded RNLI silver medal on 9th Oct. 1941. On 5th August 1941 the lifeboat Anne Letitia Russell launched at 12.45pm with a crew of six instead of the usual eight, to the 300 ton three masted schooner Stella Marie. She had been in difficulty since the previous day and was being driven in a strong gale onto a sandbank off Fleetwood Harbour. When the lifeboat arrived the schooner was actually on the bank. Coxswain Wright went alongside and managed to take off the eight man crew. The lifeboat's return was made more difficult by damage sustained to her rudder in the rescue.
