General notes
These two pavilions stood at the entrance to the Central Pier in Morecambe. The pier gained a large pavilion known as "the Taj Mahal of the north", but this was destroyed by a fire in 1933. The pier was rebuilt wil somewhat simpler buildings in an art deco style which survived, although damaged by the elements and further fires, until demolition of the pier in 1991- this rebuild included replacing these two pavilions with a larger complex which was the last part of the pier open to the public. Mr Eastwood had a Chemist shop in Lancaster, and took a selection of images around Morecambe on glass plates around the turn of the 20th century.
