This portrait of Alexander Doleman the "Father of Fylde Golf" hangs along with other Captains portraits in the club house at Royal Lytham and St Annes.

Originally from Scotland, Doleman was a schoolmaster and local JP and the prime mover in setting up the Lytham and St Annes Golf Club. He died in 1914 at the age of 78.
