Unveiling by the Guild Mayor, H. Astley-Bell, of the memorial to Captain Fryatt, on the S.S. Brussels. The memorial reads:- "Captain Charles Fryatt when gallantly endeavouring to save this ship and the lives on board from capture during the Great War was himself taken prisoner and subsequently shot. His name is honoured in the history of the British nation and his deeds have added lustre to the records of the British Merchant Service".
