General notes
LCC negotiated with the Territorial Army to reclaim derelict land. Liverpool 508 Squadron Royal Engineers with earth moving equipment graded and leveled the spoil heaps on the old colliery site. around 300 tons of earth was moved each hour and the main spoil heap was planted with 16,000 young trees.
The white house on the left is in front of Wash Farm. The view is towards Rainford showing the Rainford Bypass.
