Street scene showing ladies stood outside the Brabbin's Alms houses in Chipping. The old school can be seen in the middle of the picture.These 17th Century buildings were built for the poor widows of the parish through a charity left by John Brabbin when he died in 1683. The school was built in 1684 for the poor children of the town. Brabbin also left his dictionary and bible to the school.
