Message written in an old form of script reads: "Whereas diver Person have, for some Time past, made a Practice of Trespassing upon the two Closes of Land called The CARR HILL and The CARR FIELD, in Treals, in the County of Lancaster, in the Possession of WILLIAM SHAW, of Treals aforesaid; and also upon the Close of Land called The LITTLE CARR MEADOW, in Treals aforesaid, in the Possession of WILLIAM ROSSALL, of Kirkham, in the said County: The said William Shaw and William Rossall do therefore hereby give NOTICE That Person offending in like manner, in future, will be prosecuted as wilful Trespassers." Dated February 15, 1800.
