Land for Victoria Park was purchased by Nelson Local Board from Mr Every-Clayton in 1886. Further areas were purchased in 1896 and 1897 to extend the park across Pendle Water. This photograph shows the audience for a concert held at the bandstand which stands on the western side of Pendle Water.
