Date and names unknown. Pictured outside the Holy Trinity vicarage (Elmwood, Accrington Rd., Burnley), this group portrait may mark the resignation/retirement of long-serving and very eminent organist and choirmaster Robert Watson, who lived at Palace House, Burnley. Born 1837, died 1911, he became choirmaster in 1865 and resigned at the end of 1908 and in March 1909 he was presented with a portrait of around 100 past and current choir members, plus an illuminated address and a collection of £90.( Burnley Express 14.11.1908 p. 8, 31.3.1909, p6) Identifiable in the photo is the Reverend A.W.H Weatherly, standing in the very centre of the doorway, between two curates. Weatherly was at Holy Trinity between 1898 and 1913. Holy Trinity Church was consecrated in 1836 and closed in 1989 when it was converted to dwellings.
