Formerly known as St.George's Gardens, these were renamed as Ashton Gardens in honour of Lord Ashton who bought the land and presented the gardens to the "inhabitants of St.Annes-on-Sea" in 1914. The gardens originally consisted of 14.5 acres of land which was re-shaped at a cost of nearly 26,000 pounds.
