General notes
Roughlee in Lancashire is a beautiful little village set alongside the Pendle Water at the foot of Pendle Hill.
This dramatic image shows the "waterfall" on Pendle Water beside the narrow road. The waterfall would exist quite dramatically even without the weir over which it passes. The volume of water it carries accounts for the heavy reinforcement of the banking to the right of the image. At first glance it seems to suggest the former presence of an industrial building associated with the weir, but there is no evidence such a structure existed.
You can't miss visiting the area which is well known for the famous Pendle Witches.
