Christine McEWEN, "Jaggerman's Bridges on Packhorse Trails"; identifies the bridge at Catlow as part of an important link in a route from Skipton to Burnley and Halifax. An earlier 18th century bridge has been altered to include raised parapets. Until the 1960's the grassy areas near to the bridge were a popular picnic destination for local families.
