General notes

Bridge under the West Coast main line. A 'Heath Robinson style' survey vehicle. The structure on the back for the surveyor to climb up to see the underside of the bridge. The uprights at the corner of the vehicle to measure headroom. There was a parliamentary report into road signs in 1944, (see pre Worboys signs). These may be County Surveyors staff following a Government directive to check and sign low bridges. For a County wide survey it would be worthwhile devising a vehicle such as this.
