The nuns are probably Catherine Mary Trappes-Lomax and Frances Anne Trappes-Lomax. They were born in 1871 and 1873 respectively in Clitheroe, to Thomas Trappes and Helen Lomax. They joined the Order of the Canonesses Regular of the Holy Sepulchre, at New Hall Convent, Chelmsford, Essex, in about 1900. They both remained there until their deaths in the 1950s.
