The nuns are possibly Catherine Mary Trappes-Lomax and Frances Anne Trappes-Lomax were born in 1871 and 1873 respectively in Clitheroe, to Thomas Trappes and Helen Lomax. They joined the Catholic religious order of the Canonesses Regular of the Holy Sepulchre, situated at New Hall Convent, Chelmsford, Essex, about 1900. They both remained there until their deaths in Chelmsford in the 1950's.
