An old Lancashire and Yorkshire Engine at Brierfield around 1920. A 2-4-2 side tank engine it was designed by Sir John Aspinall and built at Horwich.

Photograph shows a locomotive at Brierfield level crossing taken by Mr Bentley and copied from a glass negative by Colin Bean.
