"This church was erected in 1904 to serve the residents of Ansdell and Fairhaven. Fairhaven, Pollux Gate, Cyprus Avenue and Miletas Place all take their names from St Paul's travels." From "Lytham St Annes: A pictorial history" (1995) by Robert Haley, See Image no.116. "St Paul's Church, Clifton Drive, Fairhaven, erected in 1904 at a cost of £8,215 is in the late perpendicular Gothic styled of architecture, and built of brick with stone facings and pillars. The plans provide for additional nave and side aisle, the building being incomplete. There are 485 sittings. The annual value of the benefice is £356, in the patronage of the trustees of J T Clifton Esq., and held by the Rev F Knight, BA." From Barrett's Directory of Blackpool and the Fylde 1924, p. 503. This is one of a series of photographs of Ansdell Churches taken by staff from Ansdell Library in Summer 2010.
