Weeton Mill, near Blackpool
Weeton, Blackpool
Weeton lies in the coastal strip of land called the Fylde in what used to be known as 'Windmill Land'. It had its own windmill, built in 1812 on the site of a 17th century peg mill. Flour was ground at the mill until 1916, but it was sadly demolished in 1960 and only the stone circle remains. The postcard is addressed to Mrs.Tatham, Hesketh Lane, Tarleton, Preston. The message reads: Will write soon been away this week going to a funeral..." (writing on the rest of the message difficult to read).
