General notes
The Cumberland View Hotel is in Sandylands, that part of Heysham closest to Morecambe (The Battery and Bold Street forming the boundary). The houses in the background are on Granville Road. The hotel still exists, although the view of the Cumberland mountains is now confined to the view across a small park, the rest of the promenade having been built up. In the early part of the 21st century, the apperance of the hotel was changed by the removal of the upper floor, reflecting the fact that the building now serves more as a local pub than a hotel with a sea view for visitors. Mr Eastwood had a Chemist shop in Lancaster, and took a selection of images around Morecambe on glass plates around the turn of the 20th century.
