General notes
The Queen's Hotel began as "The Bath House" in 1857. This building on East Beach was demolished and the 'Neptune Hotel' was erected in its place, this name later being changed to the Queen's Hotel. For a short time, it was also known as "The Rat and Parrot", before restored to The Queen's.
