Nelson
The ornamental arch at the end of the pond is known locally as the "wishing gate"and is popular with children. It was carved around the 1830's.
Once the home of the Walton family, Marsden Hall and park was bought by Nelson Corporation in 1912 for £6000.
Note the damage to metalwork and the stonework is missing a bird at the top of the arch.
