General notes

Morecambe Central Pier was built in 1869, and a new Pavilion was added in 1897/98.
This Photograph has the new pavilion at the end of the pier putting the date around this time.
At the time of the photograph, there doesn't appear to be people on the pier, suggesting that it might not have been open for public use, and perhaps the new pavilion had just been built.
The signs attached advertising new facilities such as a 'New Ballroom' also adds to this suggestion.
I put the date a 1898 due to the above information found.
Although written at the bottom is 'Morecambe Pier' this is a photograph rather than a postcard. The photograph would probably go to be used for postcard purposes.
