Organised by Pearsons' Fresh Air Fund for the 22nd year, this group of 800 poor children, about to leave Red Lion St. School on 19/7/1928 for a day out in Whalley. made 1500 in total for the year, plus another 800 the following week. They also took sick children to St. Anne's or a farm for a fortnight, and appealed for donations for a poor mothers outing in August.
