General notes
The 1901 Railway Tavern Team were unbeaten in the Licensed House League, drawing one game, winning the rest. The League comprised 8 licensed houses, Railway, Queen, Bankhouse, Royal, Dragoon, Nelson, Finsley and Tacklers. In 1901 the landlord at the Railway was James Greenwood Pollard, so perhaps he is the gentleman holding the trophy. The Railway Tavern was located at 62 Bridge Street.
