Devil's Bridge has only carried foot traffic since the 1930s and dated from around 1370. The name arises from the usual story about the Devil agreeing to build a bridge in exchange for the first soul to cross it, and the wily locals arranging for this to be some pet or livestock- presumably, given the number of bridges attached to this story, the Devil never became wise to this trick!
