Furness Abbey Hotel
Barrow in Furness
Some of the images are from areas away from Silverdale and the surrounding area. It may be that Bird was on holiday locally, and had a few day trips out.

Only one wing now remains of the Furness Abbey Hotel, a 17th century manor originally built for the Preston family, almost certainly from the Abbey's guess house. It was bought by the Furness Railway in 1847 and much extended by Sharpe and Paley, with a link to the adjacent railway station. Most of the building was demolished in 1954.
