General notes

Located on Bridge Street was the King's Corn Mill (also known as Old Soke Mill). It was originally powered by this water wheel, until a significant proportion of the mill was destroyed by fire in the 1820's. At this point a steam engine was installed to power the mill, but the water wheel survived until it was dismantled in 1912. The remaining parts of the mill itself were demolished in the 1960's.
