In the distance is Arnside Knott, with the road which leads from Arnside to Silverdale via the coast road.
Thomas S. Knight was Head of this farming family in 1901. Aged 66 he was a native of Ulverston. His wife Eleanor age 53 came from Whitehaven. Living with them were their son William H age 34 who was also a farmer and employer, daughters Carolina J. aged 28 and Mary E. 26, who were all born in Whitehaven. Also living at the farm were four farm labourers.
