The card shows some of the "Porritt" houses on the North promenade which were built by William John Porritt who was a director of the St Annes-on-the-Sea Land and Bulding Company and served as its chairman from 1881-1896. (see "St Anne's on the Sea, a History" (2008) by Peter Shakeshaft (p.160-162))
