Railway Sidings At Padiham
Padiham
A photograph of the railway sidings in Padiham taken sometime in the 1960's or 70's. The view looks out across Padiham towards the town centre. St. Leonard's Church can be seen in the background.

The railway to Padiham opened in 1875. The passenger line closed in 1957 and the station was duly demolished. However, the line remained open in order to deliver coal to Padiham power station. The line closed for good when the power station was demolished in 1993.
