General notes
The building in the foreground is the school building which formed part of the large Ebenezer Baptist Chapel on Colne Road. Just behind it, one can make out the church itself.

The church was the first established by the Baptists in Burnley in 1777. However, the building photographed wasn't constructed until 1845. The chapel itself was built in 1860, although there were previous incarnations on the same site. The name Ebenezer was used up until 1970, when it merged with Angle Street and Immanuel Baptist churches to become Burnley Lane Baptist Church. The buildings were updated and renovated numerous times during the 20th century, but by 2007 attendances had dwindled to such an extent that it was closed.
