Morecambe Central was opened in 1869, and a Pavilion was added in 1897/1898. This Pavilion was destroyed by fire on July 31st 1933. in 1935 new facilities were built. The pier was closed in 1986 due to decking collapsing at the far end. This photograph must have been taken during the event of the 1933 fire. There is also a printed date on the photograph itself - 31.7.33
