General notes
Located at 5 Temple Street, off Oxford Rd., Fulledge, Burnley, an area subsequently cleared and now occupied by modern residential redevelopment. Also shown is the shop of Isaac Pickles, 2/4 Oxford Rd., "Bookseller, stationer and general dealer." (Barratts Directory) The Daily News headlines "Hohenlohe bomb - more amazing revelations" may refer to the publication in 1906 of the memoirs of Prince Chlodwig of Hohenlohe, one time Chancellor of Germany by his son Alexander, which were serialised in newspapers throughout Europe and caused much interest. The license for the Grimshaw Arms was surrendered in 1911.
