Greyhound Inn, 10, Cannon St., Burnley. Located at the bottom of Hall St., in Wapping a poor area of lodging houses and slums. James Dean in the doorway of his marine stores shop was known as the King of Wapping.a most disreputable character, he was a broker and ran a lodging house on Cannon St. (Burnley Gazette 7 Sept. 1912, p. 4., property was offered for sale as still being occupied by Dean as a broker), image is said to date from ca. 1900. The Greyhound Inn license was removed in 1907.
