General notes
King Edward VII died on 6th May 1910, only reigning from 1901 on the death of his mother Queen Victoria. A Civic Procession is shown on Church Street on its way from Burnley Town Hall to St. Peter's Parish Church to commence a memorial service at 1 pm, the same time as the actual service at Windsor. There was no military presence as the territorials were at camp., but police, fire and ambulance etc. attended, and particular mention is made of the new force of Boy Scouts who can be seen in uniform. There was a collection for the relief of the distress caused by the "appalling mine disaster at Whitehaven". Services were also held by all denominations in churches and chapels throughout Burnley. (Burnley Express 18 and 21 5 1910). The location is said to be Church St., but it is unclear exactly where so the map reference is an indication only.
