General notes
Burnley Components Ltd., established 1916, on Accrington Rd., Burnley, making small electrical components. During WW1 they made munitions. They continued to employ female workers after WW1. They became known as Bur-co, and in the thirties launched their electric wash boiler and in 1934 moved into bigger premises Waterside Mill in Rose Grove. A merger with another local engineering company W H Dean in 1950s created Burco Dean and the popular Baby Burco wash boiler. They became part of Lec and no longer manufacture in the town. Image is a copy of a damaged photo and shows a tear across the middle.
