General notes
The beginnings of Rehoboth Primitive Methodist chapel owe much to John Wyld. He was a devout and energetic local preacher who wanted to set up a chapel in the Burnley Wood area. He enlisted the services of some local residents, who lent their houses for the use of services. The congregation expanded rapidly and eventually a sire was found for the construction of a purpose built chapel on the corner of Springfield and Waterloo Road and was named the Rehoboth Primitive Methodist Chapel.
