The laying of The Foundation Stone of St.Annes-on-the-Sea took place on 31st March, 1875. The Stone was laid in the foundations of the St.Annes Hotel which stood opposite the railway station. Postcard addressed to Mrs Hughes, Dublin. Message reads: "From next Friday please address to me at the "Southdown Hydro, St.Annes-on-Sea, Lancashire. L.H"
