General notes
This is the launching of a new lifeboat, the William Priestly, from Green Street slipway. The boat still exists at Lancaster Maritime Museum. This was not an RNLI boat, but was paid for and managed by the local fishermen, although the two did assist each other. A mould was taken of the boat and a number of glass fibre copies exist.
