Burnley Express obit. 24.12.1924 pays tribute to a comedian who played local music halls for 40 years, supported many charitable causes, entertained in hospitals and workhouses at Christmas, particularly well known for dressing as a jester for Burnley Carnival. He died aged 62 on 21.12.1924 and a benefit concert was held for his widow. He lived at 38 Patten Street off Trafalgar Street Burnley, near many mills and the canal.
