General notes

Work began on the Burnely to Brierfield section of the M65 in March 1978 and opened to traffic in October 1981. The photograph shows the eastern side of the Junction 12 roundabout facing towards Nelson. This section, (to Reedyford), would not be opened until December 1983. Just above the roundabout can be seen the buildings of Old Laund Hall Farm.
