Queen Street Mill Chimney, Briercliffe
Briercliffe, Burnley
A photograph of the chimney at Queen Street Mill, taken from Queen Street. It opened in 1895 and was owned and run by the Queen Street Manufacturing Company, which was a local co-operative. At the time of its closure in 1982 it was the last working steam powered mill in the country. After the closure it was converted into a working museum, which continues to maintain and use 300 of the original Lancashire looms.
